  • Budget per subcategory

You set a limit wherever you want and see how much you have spent and how much is left.

How to read it

What the numbers mean

The indicators do not all measure the same thing: some show a share of income, others a share of expenses.

Savings rate

It is the part of the month's income that was not spent, as a percentage rather than in euro. So you can compare a good month with a hard one, even if the income was different.

The RHYTHM guide

Essential and Fixed

Essential is what you have marked as necessary, Fixed is what repeats every month at the same amount. Both are measured as a share of your expenses, not of your income. One expense can be both at once, which is why the percentages do not add up.

The COMPASS guide

Variance against budget

It is the difference between what you spent and the limit you had set. The bar next to it shows how much of the limit you have already used. On expenses, a positive number means you went over. On income, a negative one means you fell short.

Top category and largest expense

The top category adds up many transactions of the same kind. The largest expense is a single transaction. Together with the average expense per transaction, they tell you whether the money goes in many small amounts or a few big ones.

Frequently asked questions

Where is my data stored?

In the memory of your browser, on your own device. Nothing is sent and nothing is stored with us. Logifin has no user accounts and never sees your numbers.

Does Logifin see the amounts I enter?

No. All calculations run locally, inside the page. Even we have no way to see your portfolio or your budget.

Do I need an account to use it?

No. There is no registration and no login. You open the page and you start.

What happens if I delete cookies or clear my browser?

If you clear your browsing data (cookies and site data), your entries are deleted along with it, because they live only inside your browser. This is why the backup button exists: download the file before any cleanup and restore it afterwards with one click.

What happens if my computer breaks or is lost?

The data exists only on your device, so without a backup file it is lost with it. Store a copy somewhere that survives hardware failures, such as a cloud drive or a USB stick. This way you will restore everything on a new device within seconds.

How do I see my data on my phone or on another computer?

With the same backup file: download it on one device, open the tool on the other and press restore. There is no automatic sync on purpose: sync would mean your data passes through our servers.

How often should I keep a backup?

After every meaningful update, for example when you record the transactions of the month. Ten seconds today saves you a lot of effort tomorrow.

What does the backup file contain?

A plain file with your entries, in a format the tool can read. It stays wherever you save it and passes through nowhere else.
