What is included

What the tool can do

  • XIRR return

Your real annual return, which takes into account when you put in each amount, so it compares fairly with anything else.

  • Benchmark comparison

What you would have today if the same money, on the same days, had gone into the S&P 500, MSCI World or Nasdaq-100.

  • Index XIRR

The index gets its own annual return on your own dates too, so you compare like with like.

  • Index history

15 years of real prices in euro. If one of your purchases is older than that, the tool tells you.

  • FX per transaction

Every purchase in dollars converts at the rate of its own day, so your gain also shows what the currency did.

  • Complete P/L

Your gain or loss includes dividends and fees, not just the change in price.

  • Closed positions

Whatever you have sold stays in the table with its final result, so your history is not lost.

  • Three allocation views

How much you hold in each position, each kind of investment and each broker, at a glance.

  • Cumulative investment

A chart of the money you put in month by month, next to the path it would have taken in the S&P 500.

  • Backup file

Your data stays on your device and moves wherever you want with a single file.

How to read it

What the numbers mean

Four figures that look alike, though each answers a different question.

What is XIRR?

It is your annual return, worked out from when each amount went in and came out. A large amount last year counts differently from a small one last month, which is why it is the fair way to measure yourself. It needs at least a year of history to mean anything.

The RHYTHM guide

Comparison on the same dates

The tool takes your own purchases and sales, on your own dates, and replays them on the S&P 500, the MSCI World and the Nasdaq-100. So you see what you would have today if you had chosen the index, and the comparison is fair to both sides.

The ATLAS guide

Why is P/L not value minus deposits?

P/L also counts the dividends you received, the fees you paid and what you gained or lost on positions you have closed. Net deposits count only what you still hold. That is why the two numbers tell different stories.

The COMPASS guide

What about dollars?

Every transaction in dollars converts to euro at the rate of the day it happened. Open positions are valued at the current rate you set above the table. So your gain also shows the part the currency brought in.

Frequently asked questions

Where is my data stored?

In the memory of your browser, on your own device. Nothing is sent and nothing is stored with us. Logifin has no user accounts and never sees your numbers.

Does Logifin see the amounts I enter?

No. All calculations run locally, inside the page. Even we have no way to see your portfolio or your budget.

Do I need an account to use it?

No. There is no registration and no login. You open the page and you start.

What happens if I delete cookies or clear my browser?

If you clear your browsing data (cookies and site data), your entries are deleted along with it, because they live only inside your browser. This is why the backup button exists: download the file before any cleanup and restore it afterwards with one click.

What happens if my computer breaks or is lost?

The data exists only on your device, so without a backup file it is lost with it. Store a copy somewhere that survives hardware failures, such as a cloud drive or a USB stick. This way you will restore everything on a new device within seconds.

How do I see my data on my phone or on another computer?

With the same backup file: download it on one device, open the tool on the other and press restore. There is no automatic sync on purpose: sync would mean your data passes through our servers.

How often should I keep a backup?

After every meaningful update, for example when you record the transactions of the month. Ten seconds today saves you a lot of effort tomorrow.

What does the backup file contain?

A plain file with your entries, in a format the tool can read. It stays wherever you save it and passes through nowhere else.

Do the prices of my investments update automatically?

No. You update the current prices yourself, whenever you want. Only the benchmark indices for the comparison come from the site. This way the tool never has to tell any service what you own.
