Cookies Policy
Last updated: 8 September 2026
This Policy explains how Logifin (logifin.eu), operated by LOGIFIN E.E., uses cookies and local storage technologies, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Article 4(5) of Greek Law 3471/2006 and Directive 2002/58/EC (ePrivacy).
1. The short answer
The Site sets one single cookie, the strictly necessary access cookie logifin-key, and only if you are a Logifin Circle subscriber and you yourself activate your subscription on the activation page (section 3). No statistical, advertising or third-party cookie is ever set, and ordinary visitors receive no cookie at all.
All other information stored on your device is placed through your browser's local storage, stays there exclusively and is never sent to us or to any third party.
2. What cookies are and what local storage is
Cookies are small files a website places on your device which are sent back to the server with every request. It is precisely this sending that makes them suitable for tracking your behaviour.
Local storage is a different technology. The data is stored in the browser, stays on the device and is not sent anywhere automatically. It is read only by code running on the page itself, which is to say locally.
The Site uses the second technology as a rule. It uses one single cookie, the strictly necessary logifin-key described in section 3, exclusively for Logifin Circle subscribers.
3. The single cookie: logifin-key
The Site sets one cookie only, exclusively for Logifin Circle subscribers:
| Name | What it holds | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
logifin-key | Your subscription activation key (in the form LGF-…) | Access control: it allows the server to establish, before sending the page, that you are entitled to the full subscriber content | 12 months | Strictly necessary |
This cookie:
- is first placed only when you yourself activate your subscription on the activation page; ordinary visitors receive no cookie at all;
- contains exclusively the key you already hold and no other detail about you; our server does not store it anywhere — on every check it asks the payment provider (Stripe) whether the subscription remains active;
- carries the attributes
SameSite=Laxand, over a secure connection,Secure, and is sent only to our own server; - if deleted while its copy remains in local storage (
logifin-license), it is recreated immediately through a purely local operation; the page is then requested again, so that your subscriber content appears without any action on your part. No additional information is sent: the cookie travels to our server exactly as it does with any page request.
As strictly necessary for the provision of a service you have explicitly requested, namely access to content you have paid for, this cookie is exempt from the consent requirement of Article 4(5) of Greek Law 3471/2006.
4. Full list of what is stored locally
| Name | What it holds | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
logifin-consent | The fact that you have seen the opening notice and the date | So the notice does not reappear on every visit | Until you delete it |
logifin-theme | Light or dark theme | To keep your display preference | Until you delete it |
logifin-budget-v1 | Your Budget Tracker data | So your entries survive between visits | Until you delete it |
logifin-tracker-v1 | Your Portfolio Tracker data | The same | Until you delete it |
logifin-myplan-v1 | The scenarios you save in My Plan | So you can retrieve and compare them | Until you delete it |
logifin-myplan-etf-v1 | The ETFs you have chosen to follow | The same | Until you delete it |
logifin-reports-v1 | Only the current month and the number of reports you created in it, never their content | To apply the monthly limit of free reports; the counter resets automatically each month | Until you delete it |
logifin-member | A flag ("1") showing that a Logifin Circle subscription has been activated on this device | So the subscriber features of the tools are shown without a fresh check | Until you delete it |
logifin-license | A copy of your subscription activation key (LGF-…) | To keep your subscriber access active on this device and to recreate the logifin-key cookie if it is deleted | Until you delete it |
logifin-budget-v1-sections, logifin-tracker-v1-sections | Which sections of each tracker you have collapsed | So the tracker opens the way you left it | Until you delete it |
logifin-budget-v1-unreadable, logifin-tracker-v1-unreadable | A temporary copy of stored data that can no longer be read (for example a corrupted entry), so that you can still download it | So that nothing of yours is lost; created only if such an error occurs | Until you delete it |
None of these entries is sent from local storage to our servers. The key held in the logifin-license entry is used only locally, to recreate the logifin-key cookie of section 3, which is the sole means by which it reaches our server. With the exception of that key, which identifies your subscription with the payment provider rather than you personally, no entry contains an identifier that would allow us to identify you. The entries holding tool data contain what you enter yourself, yet they remain exclusively on your own device.
The browser's session storage, which is cleared as soon as you close the tab, holds only one marker that you used a tool during the current visit (logifin-tool-used:<tool>), so that the anonymous usage count records the use once per visit. It contains none of the figures you enter.
5. Why consent is not requested
Under the law, consent is required for storing or accessing information on a user's device unless it is strictly necessary to provide a service that the user has explicitly requested.
All the entries above fall within that exemption: either you create them by using a tool (your data) or they record a choice you made (theme, notice). None serves a statistical or advertising purpose.
The same exemption covers the logifin-key cookie of section 3: it is placed only through your own action, when you activate your subscription, and it is strictly necessary for the provision of the service you have explicitly requested, namely access to the subscriber content you have purchased. For this reason no consent is required for it either.
The same holds for the traffic measurement described immediately below: because it works without cookies (all that remains on your device is the session-storage flag of section 4, with no personal data), it does not even fall within the consent requirement of Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, which concerns precisely the storing of or access to information on your equipment.
The notice shown on your first visit is purely informational: it tells you that the Site uses no tracking cookies and records locally only the fact that you have read it, so that it does not reappear. The traffic measurement of section 6 works without cookies and without storing anything on your device and therefore does not depend on that notice — there is nothing on your device to switch off. Should any technology that genuinely requires consent ever be introduced, such as statistics or advertising cookies, it will be activated only after your prior and explicit consent, requested through real accept and decline choices.
6. Traffic measurement happens without cookies
We measure traffic to the Site so that we know which articles are read. That measurement, however, does not use cookies, which is why it does not appear in the table above: no cookie is stored on your device. The same holds for the page-speed measurement (Vercel Speed Insights), which records only loading times per page and the device type.
Instead of a cookie, a visitor is identified by a hash derived from the request itself, which resets every day. It is therefore not technically possible to follow you from one day to the next, nor to recognise you on other websites. What is recorded is aggregate information such as the page, the country and the device type, with no profiling. The details are in the Privacy Policy.
7. What the Site does not use
We state explicitly that the Site does not embed:
- analytics tools that rely on cookies and follow a visitor over time, such as Google Analytics;
- advertising networks, pixels or remarketing cookies such as Meta Pixel or Google Ads;
- social network buttons and widgets that load third-party code;
- fonts or files loaded from third-party servers that could reveal your IP address.
Even the market data shown on some pages is requested by our server rather than by your browser, so that none of your details is disclosed to the data provider.
8. Control and deletion
You are in full control:
- From the tools themselves: every tracker offers an option to clear its data.
- From your browser: in the privacy settings of any browser you can delete site data for logifin.eu.
- Through private browsing: in a private window, anything stored is deleted when you close it.
- The subscription cookie: if you delete the
logifin-keycookie and thelogifin-licenseentry, your device is no longer recognised as a subscriber device. Your subscription itself is not affected; you regain access by entering your key again on the activation page. Keep a copy of your key, for example through the key file download offered during activation.
Important warning: because we keep no copies on our servers, deleting your browser data means the permanent and unrecoverable loss of everything you have entered into the tools. If you want to keep it, first use the backup download the trackers provide.
9. Third-party sites
Some pages contain links to third parties, notably to brokers as affiliate links. Payments take place on external hosted payment pages operated by Stripe (buy.stripe.com). Newsletter subscriptions are submitted directly to the external email provider Kit (ConvertKit LLC).
Those sites may use their own cookies, on their own pages and under their own policies. Logifin neither sets, reads nor controls those cookies. We recommend reading their policies before using their services.
10. Changes and contact
This policy is updated whenever the workings of the Site change. For the processing of personal data more broadly, see the Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of this Policy. For any related request: info@logifin.eu.
